What happens to people who win the lottery?

Here are some stories from the UK, part I:
· A 36-year-old woman blew her fortune in two years and then had a heart attack. "I drank, gambled, wasted or gave away the cash. I was so bored I was drinking a bottle of rum a day. I won a fortune but it nearly cost me my life." She had won approximately $1.3 million.
· A 25-year-old woman says her approximate $1.8 million wrecked her career and her life with her boyfriend.
· A man who won almost $9 million became a drug addict. He says it ruined his seven-year marriage and "made life hell."
